Terms and Conditions
Who we are and what applies to your order
“SHADES,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the company named as the supplier on your invoice or quotation. The supplier’s legal name, address, trade license details, and Tax Registration Number (TRN) are shown on that document.
Your contract with us is made up of:
- The invoice or accepted quotation.
- These Terms and Conditions.
- The measurements, size lists, style notes, fabric references, and order records we hold for your order.
- Written correspondence about your order, including email and WhatsApp messages.
- Any additional written terms we have specifically agreed with you for that order.
If a term agreed in writing for your order conflicts with these terms, the order-specific term applies.
Services covered
These terms apply to the services and products we provide, including:
- Bespoke Tailoring: custom suits, shirts, trousers, and other made-to-measure garments for individual customers.
- Uniform Solutions: corporate, hospitality, healthcare, security, safety, and school uniforms, and other custom workwear for organizations.
- Alterations and Repairs: adjustments and repairs to garments, whether or not we made them.
- Related products and delivery services offered by us from time to time.
The exact garments, materials, fittings, finishing, and services included in your order are those stated on your invoice or quotation and in your order record.
Bespoke tailoring: what it means
A bespoke garment is made for one customer, using the measurements, style, fabric, and construction agreed for that order. The process may include consultation, measurement, pattern development, cutting, fittings, adjustment, and finishing. The number and type of fittings depend on the garment and the customer’s requirements.
Photographs, reference garments, and inspiration images are treated as design guidance only. An exact copy cannot be guaranteed because body shape, proportions, cloth, and construction differ, and because some designs are protected by intellectual property rights.
Tailored garments involve natural materials and skilled handwork. Small variations in stitching, pattern placement, and finish are part of the character of a handmade garment, provided they do not materially affect its quality, fit, or use.
Checking and approving your order
Please check the garment type, fabric, color, style details, measurements, quantity, price, and estimated completion date recorded for your order, and tell us promptly if anything is wrong.
We will produce your order using the information recorded by us and the measurements or instructions you provide. At fittings we may ask you to approve the garment before the next production stage. A later request to change an approved design, proportion, fit preference, or styling detail may require extra work, extra materials, and extra time.
A verbal instruction changes your order only once we have accepted and recorded it.
Prices and payment
All prices are in UAE dirhams (AED). VAT, delivery, urgent-service fees, and any other applicable charges are shown on your invoice or quotation.
Bespoke and individual orders: a deposit of 50 percent of the order value is payable when the order is confirmed, and the balance is payable before the garment is collected or delivered, unless your invoice states a different schedule.
Uniform and corporate orders: payment terms are stated in the quotation or the agreed purchase order. Production usually begins once the required advance payment, the approved sample, and the confirmed size list have been received.
Alterations and repairs: payment is due on collection or delivery, unless an advance is stated on your invoice.
A different payment schedule applies only if it is stated on the invoice or quotation or approved in writing by an authorized manager. We may pause pattern work, cutting, production, delivery, or collection until the payment and information we need have been received.
Cancellation and changes to bespoke orders
Because bespoke orders use materials and work allocated specifically to you, the following applies:
- Before the fabric or materials are ordered or allocated, we will refund the amount you paid.
- After materials are ordered or allocated, but before cutting begins: we may deduct unrecoverable fabric and supplier costs, consultation and pattern work already completed, and other reasonable costs directly caused by the cancellation. The balance will be refunded.
- After pattern work, cutting or production has materially begun: the order cannot normally be cancelled for a change of mind. The cancellation charge may be up to the full order value, depending on the materials committed and the work completed.
Changes to an order are subject to technical feasibility and production capacity. An accepted change may involve an additional charge and a revised completion date.
Nothing in this section limits your rights if a garment is defective or has not been made in line with the agreed specifications.
Measurements, body changes, and fittings
Measurements record your body on the day they were taken. Please attend the fittings reasonably needed for your order and give timely feedback and approval.
The fittings and adjustments needed to bring your garment in line with the approved measurements, style, and fit are included in the order price.
Additional charges and a revised completion date may apply where extra work is needed because of:
- A change in weight, body shape, or posture after measurement.
- A missed or significantly delayed fitting.
- A design or style change after approval.
- A change in your fit preference during production.
- Incorrect or incomplete measurements supplied remotely.
- Alteration or modification of the garment by another tailor or third party.
Fit is judged against the approved design, comfort, balance and movement, and your measurements. A bespoke garment cannot be judged only by comparing it with a photograph or with a garment made for someone else.
Remote and repeat orders
If you place an order using measurements taken by you or by another person, we remain responsible for our workmanship, but we cannot be responsible for fit problems caused by inaccurate or incomplete measurements.
For repeat orders we may use an existing pattern or measurement record. Please tell us about any change in weight, body shape, posture, or intended use. We may ask for new measurements or a fitting before we proceed.
Fabrics, colors, and natural variation
Colors seen on screens, in photographs, and in messages may differ from the physical fabric. Please view fabric swatches in person where possible.
Natural and specialty materials can show individual variation in shade, weave, texture, markings, and finish. Different production batches of the same cloth may also show slight shade differences.
If a selected fabric becomes unavailable, we will contact you before using a substitute that materially changes your order.
Customer-supplied fabric and materials
We accept customer-supplied fabric subject to our assessment of its suitability. We cannot guarantee how it will perform where there is hidden damage, weakness, shrinkage, color bleeding, uneven width, a previous treatment, or an insufficient quantity.
We remain responsible for the quality of our workmanship. Because cutting requires allowances for matching, balance, and fitting, we cannot guarantee that a particular amount of fabric will remain. Any usable remainder will be returned on request.
Uniform and corporate orders
These terms apply in addition to the rest of this document when we make uniforms or workwear for an organization.
- Quotations: a quotation is valid for the period stated on it. Prices depend on the quantity, fabric, specification, and delivery requirements stated in the quotation. A change to any of these may change the price and timeline.
- Samples and approval: where a sample or prototype is prepared, production starts only after the customer approves it in writing. Approval covers the design, fabric, color, fit, branding, and finish shown in the sample.
- Size lists and measurements: the customer is responsible for the accuracy of the size list or measurement data supplied. Where we carry out the sizing session, the sizes we record are the basis for production. Changes to sizes after production starts may involve additional cost and time.
- Branding, logos, and artwork: the customer confirms that it has the right to use any logo, name, or artwork supplied for embroidery, printing, or labeling and will protect us against third-party claims arising from that use. Final artwork must be approved before production.
- Quantity variation: unless the quotation states otherwise, a variation of up to 5 percent in the delivered quantity is accepted for large production runs, and the invoice will reflect the quantity delivered.
- Repeat and top-up orders: shades and finishes can vary slightly between fabric batches. We will try to match earlier supplies but cannot guarantee an identical shade.
- Changes and cancellation: after sample approval, changes are subject to feasibility and may involve extra charges and a revised delivery date. Once fabric has been ordered or cutting has begun, we may charge for the materials committed and the work completed, up to the full order value for the affected items.
- Delivery and acceptance: the customer should inspect the goods promptly on delivery and report any shortfall or non-conformity in writing within 7 days. Where delivery is made to several locations, each delivery will be treated as part of the same order.
- Alteration and repair services
Before we begin work on an existing garment, we may record its condition, any existing damage, and the work requested. Please tell us about any known weakness, earlier repair, damage, or unusual fabric treatment.
We are not responsible for damage caused by a hidden weakness or deterioration that could not reasonably have been identified before work began. We are responsible for damage caused by our failure to carry out the agreed work with reasonable skill and care.
Our alteration and repair workmanship is guaranteed for 14 days from delivery or collection, or for any longer period required by an agreed warranty or by applicable law. Please bring any concern to us within this period so we can inspect the garment.
We may decline an alteration if it cannot be carried out without harming the garment’s structure, fabric, or appearance.
Completion dates and event deadlines
Completion dates depend on fabric availability, construction, fitting attendance, approvals, and workshop capacity. Unless we confirm a date in writing as guaranteed, a completion date is an estimate.
If you need your garment for a wedding, a trip, or another fixed event, please tell us in writing before the order begins. A fixed deadline binds us only if we have accepted it in writing. Urgent orders are accepted only where capacity allows, and any urgent-service charge is stated on the invoice.
A completion date may be extended where a delay results from:
- A missed or delayed fitting.
- Delayed feedback or approval, including delayed sample approval for uniform orders.
- A design, fit, or size change requested during production.
- Late payment.
- Inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Fabric or supplier delays outside our reasonable control.
- Transport, customs, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will tell you as soon as reasonably practicable if there is a material delay.
Collection, delivery, and uncollected orders
Delivery charges and arrangements, including UAE-wide delivery, are confirmed before dispatch. Please inspect and try on the garment after collection or delivery and tell us promptly about any concern.
When an order is ready for collection, we may send reminders, starting around seven days after we notify you.
If an order remains uncollected for ninety days, we may send a final written notice and move the order into storage. Reasonable storage or handling charges apply only if you have been notified in advance. Any further action on an uncollected order will be taken only in line with applicable law and after proper notice.
Corrections, remakes, and your statutory rights
If a garment does not match the approved measurements, style, or construction because of our workmanship, we will correct it free of charge. We will first inspect the garment and decide whether it can reasonably be corrected while keeping its quality and integrity.
If a suitable correction is not reasonably possible, the remedy may be a remake, replacement, price adjustment, or refund, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.
Free correction or remake does not normally apply to issues caused by:
- A significant body change after measurement.
- Incorrect measurements or size lists supplied by the customer.
- A later change in design or fit preference.
- Failure to attend required fittings.
- Improper care, accidental damage, or normal wear and tear.
- Alteration of the garment by a third party, to the extent it caused the issue.
Nothing in these terms removes any mandatory consumer right to repair, replacement, correct re-performance, refund, or compensation.
Care and use
Please follow the care instructions we provide with your garment. Our free correction and warranty obligations do not cover problems caused by normal wear and tear, accidental damage, improper cleaning, pressing or storage, moth or insect damage, significant body change, or third-party alteration, unless an original defect or our workmanship caused the problem.
Complaints and contact details
If you have a concern, please contact us with your invoice or quotation number, your name or organization, the garment or order details, and a clear description of the issue. We aim to resolve complaints fairly and promptly. Your right to approach the relevant consumer protection authority is not affected.

Personal data
We use the measurements, contact details, and order information you give us to carry out your order, arrange fittings and delivery, and provide aftercare. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data. Please read it alongside these terms.
Governing law and language
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute will be subject to the competent courts and authorities with jurisdiction over the supplier and the transaction, without limiting any mandatory consumer right.
Changes to these Terms
The version that applies to your order is the version in force on the date of your invoice or accepted quotation, unless the invoice or quotation states otherwise. A later update applies only to future orders and does not change an existing order.
